SFGate.com has published an interesting article about the relation between the netbook explosive growth and Microsoft's profits going down.
Because most of the netbooks are not powerful enough to run Vista they must run either Linux or Windows XP. So, Microsoft had to cut on their profits by selling XP to netbook's manufacturers - at a fraction of the cost of Vista - or watch Linux taking some more market share.
